Get ready to hide your bookshelves, because Fahrenheit 451 will soon come to HBO. According to a recent article in Relevant Magazine, HBO is preparing to adapt Ray Bradbury’s classic novel into a feature film. The story centers on a dystopian future where all books are banned and subsequently destroyed by “fireman”. Human beings are routinely distracted from critical thought by listening to “shells” which produce music and multiple home screens which display simulated games (ironically, not all that different from today). Everything changes though when a fireman named Montag refuses to burn a Bible and instead takes it home with him.

HBO has revealed that Michael B. Jordan has been chosen for the role of Montag, while Laura Harrier (from the upcoming film Spiderman: Homecoming) is set to play his wife Millie. Michael Shannon has also be cast for the villainous role of Beatty. While no word has been given on an exact release date of Fahrenheit 451, the film will likely start streaming on HBO sometime next year.
