How Having 'The Talk' Can Save Your Kids

As a pastor, I get quite a few questions from parents about how they should feel concerning some of the things their kids are learning in school. From human evolution to morals and ethics, I hear it all. But there’s no issue that disturbs me more than the idea of letting our schools teach sexual morals to our kids.
Now, I understand that in health class certain subjects are going to be covered related to reproduction. But what I’m talking about is the push I see by some to introduce so-called sex education in our classrooms. Some of these people even advocate handing out condoms to kids as young as 12 years old!
Not only that, but the past 30 years have also seen a rampant push by the media and others to portray premarital sex as the norm. So where are our kids going to be taught about sex in a healthy, God-honoring way? It has to start in the home.
I know that having “the talk” with your kids can be hard. But what’s worse? Going through a bit of awkwardness, or having your child educated about sex by the world?
Talk with your kids about sex. Make sure they know that abstinence before marriage is God’s way. Open the lines of communication with your kids and empower them to honor God with their bodies!
TALK FRANKLY WITH YOUR KIDS ABOUT SEX AND TEACH THEM TO HONOR GOD THROUGH ABSTINENCE.
