A Prayer to Disciple the Next Generation | Your Daily Prayer

Discipleship does not always look like a formal Bible lesson.

Sometimes it happens while driving to an appointment.

A child asks a question from the back seat.

One sibling offers an answer.

Another changes the subject to dinner.

The moment may feel scattered, ordinary, and far from spiritually impressive.

Yet those are often the very places where faith is formed.

Children and young people do not need every conversation to be polished. They need adults who are willing to listen, answer honestly, admit when they do not know something, and point them back to God’s Word.

Many parents, grandparents, teachers, and mentors worry that they are not doing enough.

They wonder whether children are too young to understand.

They become discouraged when attention spans are short or when spiritual conversations seem to disappear beneath everyday distractions.

Isaiah 55:11 offers deep reassurance.

God says His Word will not return empty.

That does not mean we will immediately see the results.

It means God is able to use every faithful Scripture reading, every prayer, every answer, and every conversation according to His purpose.

We plant.

We water.

God gives the growth.
