When You Feel Behind Everyone Else | Your Nightly Prayer

There is a particular kind of ache that comes when someone else’s life begins to resemble the one you had hoped for.

The announcement arrives.

The promotion happens.

The relationship begins.

The opportunity opens.

And even when you genuinely want to celebrate with them, something inside you quietly asks:

Why not me?

Comparison can make waiting feel like failure.

Instead of seeing another person’s blessing as evidence of God’s goodness, we begin treating it as evidence that we have fallen behind.

But God does not write our stories according to a shared timeline.

Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a season for everything.

Habakkuk reminds us that there is an appointed time.

Your life is not late simply because it looks different from someone else’s.

“For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”

— Habakkuk 2:3
