A comedian called out this oddity of the English language, and its absolutely hysterical. The funnyman, Michael McIntyre, brought attention to something that everyone has encountered at one time or another, and hell have you doubled over with laughter. Watch the short but terribly funny clip to hear the comedian talk about this peculiarity of the English language.
It's been said that English is one of the hardest languages to learn. It makes sense, right? Youve likely been speaking it and writing it your entire life, and there are probably still several things about it that still confuse and confound you. This is after being required to take English throughout school.
One of the big reasons it is such a challenging language to understand is that English has all kinds of rules. However, there are also exceptions to every rule you were taught in English class. Admittedly, this can be tough for students to comprehend. But one of the strangest and most inexplicable quirks of the English language is the widespread use of letters that seemingly have no business being in a handful of words, simply because they are silent.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Michael highlights this odd feature of the English language. Hilariously, he points out some of the common words that we say that have silent letters attached to them, pronouncing them as if those letters were given a voice.
Additionally, Michael proposes adding a new holiday to the calendar, which he would call Silent Letter Day. Of course, on Silent Letter Day, everyone says and celebrates the many different words with unused letters.
In a matter of moments, Michael will have you, much like the studio audience, doubled over and laughing deliriously. You likely will not be able to look at some words ever the same without thinking of Michaels hysterical bit on silent letters.

Zoltan Kaszas shared his hilarious adventures in the sky. The funnyman mentioned some of the strange things he has encountered while traveling the friendly skies. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear about his laugh-out-loud air travel experiences.
Everyone loves getting away and going on vacation. Honestly, who doesn't want to go on vacation? Anyone? Typically, those seeking a week or so of rest and relaxation will select a warm location, perhaps one with a beach near the ocean. What could possibly be better than time away from work and some fun in the sun with family and friends?
While that does sound heavenly and utterly delightful, not every moment of vacation is free of stress, worry and headaches. Of course, before enjoying the beach or whatever location youve decided upon for vacation, one must get to that spot. Usually, that means flying, which is hardly, if ever, a fun, enjoyable time. Going through security and getting on the plane is only half the fun (heavy sarcasm), but that is before the actual flight, which can also be pretty eventful.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Zoltan shared some of what he has seen and gone through while flying. Not only is what he shares incredibly funny, but its also very relatable.
He mentioned what happened when he flew with a friend who did the Sign of the Cross before takeoff. He asked his friend whether that was for everyone on the plane or just him, because that could make for an awkward situation if disaster were to strike.
Im like, When youre doing it, are you praying for everybody? he asked. He goes, Of course. I go, You better be. Cause thatd be weird, wouldnt it? This plane goes down and everybodys dead and on fire in a cornfield, except for you just sitting there: Oh, I should have prayed for everybody. I made a giant mistake. Theres going to be a lot of questions when the authorities arrive.
Later in the clip, he discussed the person who is deadset and determined to read on the flight, even when turbulence makes that somewhat challenging.

Nate Bargatze broke down the horror of modern math homework. The popular funnyman is not the biggest fan of his daughters homework, specifically the mathematics kind. Watch the clip to hear Nates hysterical complaints about how math homework is now expected to be performed and completed.
When it comes to school, not everyone was the biggest fan. For some people, school was a daily struggle, while others breezed through school effortlessly, without putting in little to no effort. Surprisingly, some individuals could achieve As or Bs without studying or even cracking open the textbook. Others would have to put in quite a bit of work even to achieve a C.
Even if school as a whole was a piece of cake, likely there were still a subject or two that gave you fits. For me, the subject that consistently provided me with headaches and made my life worse was math. Seriously, every other subject throughout school was a breeze, but when it came to math, that was a totally different story. So, when Nate complains about his daughters math homework, I understand entirely, and I bet a lot of other people do as well.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Nate mentioned how math is taught today and how it is expected to be completed. Who really uses numbers anyway, right? I mean, unless youre doing a lot of everyday functions and tasks that require numbers and mathematical functions.
She brought home Common Core math, he said. Thats fun. Its a new math they invented. No heads up, just give it to parents who never learned it.
Later in the clip, Nate explained to the audience the specific end goal of this new kind of mathematical system.
And the goal of Common Core is to use one sheet of paper for every problem, he said. You just want to keep breaking the problem down. You put the problem at the top, and it just keeps going.

A comedian got heckled, and it was shockingly polite and also pretty hilarious. The young man was doing his stand-up routine when someone from the audience began yelling at him. Watch the short, but hysterical, clip to hear the unusual and surprisingly polite way an audience member heckled the funnyman.
Stand-up comedy has to be one of the most challenging and, frankly, frightening things anyone can do. Most people have an absolutely paralyzing fear of public speaking or really doing anything where that will result in a bunch of eyeballs on them.
Now, take those fears of public speaking and add the pressure of trying to be funny and entertaining an entire audience. That sounds pretty terrifying, right? Just the thought of that situation is enough to cause many people to break out in a cold sweat. Regardless of how scary that is and how much guts it would take to get up and try stand-up, some people will still choose to heckle - to be loud, rude, obnoxious and criticize the comic.
In a clip posted on YouTube, a comedian was in the middle of his routine when an audience member started heckling him. But instead of immediately shouting something rude or obscene, this loud, disruptive audience member was polite, making for an unexpectedly hilarious scene.
Would you like a heckle from up here? an audience member in the balcony asks the comedian.
The quick-witted comedian turned the disruption into a laugh-out-loud moment, shooting back with a hysterical response.
Would I like one from up there? the comedian says. I tell you what, I would like the most polite person in the world to do it, absolutely. I would love a heckle from up there.
After a few moments where the heckler and the comedian exchange pleasantries, the comedian gives him the floor, telling him to go ahead and do your heckle.
Then things take another unexpected, but equally hilarious turn.
I need a bit of time to think, the heckler responds.
Job 8:21 The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips.
A woman gave honest job interview answers, and they are comedy gold. She did not hold anything back, saying precisely what she was thinking when asked questions typically asked during a job interview. Watch the short but hysterical clip to hear her laugh-out-loud responses to these questions weve all been asked during a job interview.
While many people complain endlessly about their jobs, work is still a necessity for most of the population. People need to make a living, and that weekly or bi-weekly paycheck is too valuable to pass up, no matter how much you may dislike your current position. Unless you were born into an insanely wealthy family, work will be a big part of your future.
So, understanding that, people, even if they absolutely dread going to their place of employment, suck it up and do their jobs. But what would happen if people said exactly what they were thinking during the interview process? Well, for one, they probably wouldnt get the position and would be forced to continue their job search. But it would probably make for a pretty funny interaction and some rather awkward moments.
In a clip posted on YouTube, one woman imagines answering typical, common job interview questions with complete honesty. As is expected, her straightforwardness is downright hilarious. However, I would not recommend using any of her answers in any future job interviews. Borrowing any of her answers would likely cause the employer to pass you over.
Here are just a few of the questions and her answers from the short clip.
What are your greatest strengths? shes asked.
Sarcasm, and I think thats it, she responds.
That response will not get anyone a second interview.
What do you want to work here? is the next question.
Oh, well, I need to pay bills, she says.
Honest, but not exactly the answer any employer wants to hear.
All of her other answers are short, concise and brutally honest.
