CNN is grasping at straws as the network continues to try and make Elon Musk's "salute" a bigger deal than it really is.

Watch the clip above with Chris Stigall and read the full transcript below.

Chris Stigall: Instead of talking about the flurry of executive orders and the way we're changing how government operates, they're still talking about Nazi salutes over on Jim's show. Give me 1:33.

CNN: After this moment went viral congressman, the Ant-Defamation League released a statement, we can show this, saying in part "it seems that Elon Musk made an awkward gesture and a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute."

Of course, if you go on social media, there are lots of other people with lots of other opinions. and say this looks very much like a Nazi salute, no matter how they're trying to clean it up. What was your reaction to that?

That was a Nazi salute and he didn't just do it one time. He did it twice for emphasis and you talk to anyone, that's historians, folks that actually study the Nazis and study this actual kind of disgusting display have been very clear what that was and he should not just apologize. He should be condemned for those kind of actions. Gross. Disgusting. But more of what we can expect, I think from Elon Musk and Donald Trump,

Chris Stigall: I don't even have the energy. That's all they've got and nobody believes it. You know, you know, what's striking to me about being here in Washington D.C. this week? I really expected as I traveled around town to see protesters everywhere. Now guys, many of this crew has like, resided in D.C. for years now. Eric, can you speak to this? Is it me or has there been just a scant little, almost pathetic, depressing turnout by way of protesters? I've seen almost none.

Eric: I remember 2016. I wasn't in DC for that, but I've been here for a few years now. Yeah, there's way less, way less. The turn out is pathetic. For all that they try to pretend "oh president, Trump gets no crowds." They got absolutely no crowds this time around. I mean, there were a few dozen, the people who have absolutely no lives, but the vast majority of them either, or also because of the cold, they are still demoralized because, remember, he won the popular vote this time. They have no excuse.

Chris Stigall: No, it's like this stuff. This Nazi salute stuff like I, who's it for, I mean it doesn't, who's it gonna animate? What are they gonna do? They can't stop him. 77 million people voted for him. He's there, he's calm, he's signing executive orders. He's not even raising his voice anymore. He's laughing at them basically, and we all are too, and they know they've got no juice left so they don't even show up to protest.

And Acosta still sits there "Nazi salute, Nazi salute, Nazi, Nazi, Nazi." Like, stupid parrots. Who watches them? Who cares? Nazi salute.

And by the way, who elected Elon Musk anyway? Nobody. What's he in charge of? Nothing. But he has Trump's attention. And so if by inference we can suggest that Trump endorses a guy who salutes to Nazis, you get it, it's almost boring to reference, but I just wanted you to know they're still at it.
