Chris Stigall: They don't have anything on him by way of agenda. All they've got is this disgusting personal stuff.
And, it fell apart as soon as they released it. From the ex-wife: "First and foremost, I have not, and will not comment on my marriage to Pete Hegseth. I do not have representatives speaking on my behalf nor have I ever asked anyone to share or speak about the details of my marriage on my behalf — whether it be a reporter, a committee member, a transition team member, etc. I do not believe your information to be accurate and I have CC'ed my lawyer."
Now listen to this, this is the most important point of it.
"There was no," says the ex-wife. "There was no physical abuse in my marriage. This is the only further statement I will make to you. I have let you know that I'm not speaking, and I will not speak, on my marriage to Pete. Please respect this decision."
So all this phony caterwauling about Pete Hegseth being an abuser, his ex-wife, who's not talking, felt it important enough to come forward yesterday and say "that's all a lie, that's not true, that's all I'm going to say, but that's not true, I didn't live in fear, he didn't beat me."
There's nothing more disgusting. It's actually a joke of sorts when you say "how long has it been since you stopped beating your wife?" That's the new bar.
This is from the same Democrat party, I remind you, once led by Harry Reid. The late Harry Reid. Who said of Mitt Romney, that he didn't pay his taxes. And when Mitt Romney lost that election and several weeks, maybe months later, Harry Reid was asked by a member of the media — "why did you say that Mitt Romney had never paid his taxes when in fact he had? There was no truth to what you said."
Harry Reid smiled and said — "well, he didn't win did he?"
And that's what these scumbags are all about. Winning at all costs. And they will lie. They will lie about you cheating your taxes, they will lie about you beating your spouse, they will do whatever they got to do to stop you. Just so they can win the day.
Pete Hegseth will be confirmed. And any Republican who so much as listens to this and takes it as legitimate — shame on you. You should know better. You should have learned from this last election. We're through with that.
